Getting at the heart of power and control, this presentation is all about becoming Bully Proof. Using the circle of control and the understandings developed by the Stoics that some things are in our control and others are not. We will discuss research-based tools for helping students find their power and take control of their lives.
Social Mediocracy
The first cell phone that joined us in our cars and at the office is not the cell phone that is now casually hanging out in every hand of almost every awake (and some asleep!) person over the age of twelve on the planet. The game has changed and so must we. What do we need to know that we don’t know? What is this device doing to our brains? Our relationships? Our kids? AND, what can we do about it?
Practical information with practical solutions that everyone can apply in their lives.
Survivor Story
A story of survival with a focus on the impact on Eliza’s children. How the violence continued after she left and she was helpless to stop it. With insights into what it feels like on the inside of an abusive relationship and understanding the power dynamic that can’t always be seen. A fresh perspective on a tale as old as time.
